December 2022 - Planning Approval gained for a Plot- substitution exercise on Phase 3 of the Cringleford development in Norwich. We originally secured Approval for this parcel a couple of years ago but the client (Tilia) has a fabulous new range of house types and wanted to introduce some into the scheme.

Sittingbourne, Kent

December 2022 - A new Reserved Matters Planning Application has been submitted for 50 dwellings at Sittingbourne on behalf of Abbey Homes. A careful analysis of the site opportunities and constraints was undertaken to arrive at a suitable scheme. These include the steep topography, existing trees, relationship to neighbouring properties and existing Public Right of Way. The scheme now provides a range of homes from 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom properties.

How Wood, St. Albans

December 2022 - An Application for 30 dwellings in How Wood, St. Albans has been submitted to the Council for Reserved Matters Approval on behalf of Abbey Homes. The scheme provides 11 Affordable and 19 Private homes.

Berryfileds, Aylesbury

November 2022 - Reserved Matters Application submitted for 81 dwellings at the Berryfields Major Development Site in Aylesbury on behalf of Abbey Homes. The scheme consists of two separate parcels, one being 23 apartments and dwellings and the other being 58 apartments in two large blocks. The latter forms the Western side of the Gateway Entrance to the MDA and has been designed to complement the Eastern side.

Whitfiled, Kent

November 2022 - Approval granted for a Section 73 Application to vary the Planning Permission at a development in Whitfield, Kent for Abbey Homes. Our client purchased the site with a Full planning Permission (prepared by others) in place but wanted to change certain elements of it. In particular, the removal of some small apartment blocks to be replaced with houses has made the scheme more in line with current demand in the area. Approval has been granted within only a few weeks of submission and the client is now able to progress work on site.

October Update

October 2022 - As we approach the end of our financial year, we have been counting up and have over a dozen Planning Applications imminently about to be determined. These add up to 769 dwellings in locations ranging from Bishops Stortford, Walmer, Houghton Regis, Hatfield, Wixams and Crowborough. Clients include Abbey Homes, Barratt, Tilia, Vistry and Riverdale. The Planning system can sometimes be frustrating but we work hard to move things forward for our clients and it will be great to get these over the line.

On the Town Planning side, the Major Development Area of Sherford New Town now has all residential parcels in Phases 1B and 2D approved at Reserved Matters stage (approximately 650 dwellings), together with the first two phases of the new Community Park. A temporary community hub has also been permitted which will provide a café and meeting rooms whilst a Planning Application has been submitted for a new Business Park. Recently, the Design Code, setting out the principles for the next phase, has been submitted to the Council for approval and we look forward to working with the Consortium on the next stages of this exciting project.

Following the Approval of the Design Principles Document (prepared by CMYK) for the Eastern Neighbourhood of the Bishops Stortford North Major Development Area, the strategic infrastructure and strategic landscaping applications were subsequently permitted. Approval of the Phasing Plan was also granted at Appeal and the consortium developers of Vistry, Kier, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon have all now submitted their first Reserved Matters applications for the residential parcels.

Sayers Common, West Sussex - Approval

October 2022 - Full Planning Approval granted for 38 dwellings in Sayers Common on behalf of Reside. We worked closely with our client to promote this land through the Local Plan and submitted a Full Application earlier in the year. We are delighted to see it now come full circle and achieve Planning Permission. Well done to all involved.

Upminster, London

October 2022 - We are delighted to announce that Reserved Matters Permission has been granted for 35 new homes in Upminster on behalf of Abbey Homes. Despite a lot of objection at the Outline Planning stage (Prepared and submitted by others), our scheme was Approved at the first attempt. All dwellings are private and were bespoke designed to provide between 2,500 and 4,000 square feet.

September Update

September 2022 - We are working on a number of Planning Application projects that are close to being submitted for Approval. At the last count, these will deliver 561 new homes in Berryfields, Houghton Regis, St. Albans and Cringleford on behalf of clients including Barratt, Abbey Homes, Riverdale and Tilia.

Cringleford, Norfolk

September 2022 - Full Application submitted for 40 new homes in Cringleford on behalf of Tilia. This site was originally allocated as a reserve school site within the overall area allocated for new housing. However, the land is now no longer required for this purpose and new homes are now proposed.
