Biggleswade Site 3

August 2017 - Reserved Matters Approval gained for 134 dwellings on Parcels 15, 16 & 18 of the Biggleswade development on behalf of Taylor Wimpey.

The Application site is made up of three parcels, two of which front on to the overall development edge and entrance roundabout. We overcame these constraints with a design that allowed for substantial landscape areas between the built form and highways.  The scheme comprises a mixture of houses and apartments, designed to address the Landscape areas and Public Realm.

CMYK have been involved in securing Planning Permissions on a number of parcels on this development for Taylor Wimpey and hope to continue their involvement on future parcels as they come forward.

A Fond Farewell

August 2017 - We say good bye to one of our Design Managers in August as Harry Thompson leaves to further his career in Landscape Design.  Harry has been with CMYK for over 6 years and will be missed by us all.

We would like to thank him for all his efforts and endeavours over the years and wish him the best of luck in the future.

We are currently working on further phases of the Western Expansion Area with Taylor Wimpey and hope to be submitting Applications in the near future.

July 2017 - Reserved Matters Approval gained for 50 dwellings on the Brackley development in Northamptonshire on behalf of Taylor Wimpey.

This Phase forms part of the Northern Gateway in to the overall development and enjoys views over the new Country Park.  We worked closely with the local Authority to overcome the challenging topography of the area and designed a range of sympathetic house types to reflect the local vernacular.

The scheme was unanimously Approved at committee.

July 2017 - Planning Approval gained for a development of 60 apartments at the District Centre on the Berryfields development on behalf of a consortium consisting of Kier, Martin Grant Homes and Taylor Wimpey.

The scheme consists of a mixture of Private and Affordable homes arranged in apartment blocks of up to four storeys in height.  The development is well positioned for access to the new District Centre, consisting of shops and retail facilities.

The Application was approved without revisions and work is expected to commence on site shortly.

Chase Farm, Enfield

June 2017 - Planning permission granted for 138 dwellings at Chase Farm, Enfield on behalf of Linden Homes.  This Approval forms the first phase of the important Chase Farm Hospital redevelopment that will see a new hospital, new school and up to 500 new dwellings constructed to replace the ageing hospital buildings currently on the site.

The scheme consists of both Private and Affordable homes and includes a mixture of houses and apartments.  The design of this first phase was considered very important due to it acting as a transition between the traditional housing found opposite the site and the contemporary design planned for the hospital buildings. CMYK worked closely with Linden Homes and the Local Authority to produce a scheme that includes different character areas to reflect the challenging setting.

Planning officers supported the Application and it was Approved at committee.

Great Wakering, Essex

January 2017 - We are pleased to announce that Outline Planning Permission has been granted in Great Wakering, Essex on behalf of Taylor Wimpey and Raven Russia Ltd.

The Permission establishes the principle of development for 180 new homes, including 63 Affordable homes on a development that will also provide Open Space and Play Areas.  As part of the approval, Public access to the adjacent Star Lane Pits will also provide carefully managed routes around the ponds and lakes with access to them being provided, through the development, off the High Street.

An indicative scheme was designed that demonstrated a considered Layout, together with a network of swales, ditches and other Surface Water attenuation measures that combine to provide an attractive environment.

The next step is to submit a Reserved Matters Application where a detailed Layout and House types will be designed and we look forward to working with our clients on this project.

Northstowe New Town

January 2017 - We are extremely pleased to have secured a Reserved Matters Planning Approval for 271 dwellings on behalf of Linden Homes.

This project forms part of the first phase of the wider Northstowe New Town Development in Cambridgeshire.  This particular parcel faces the Waterpark Edge and Greenways area of the new town offering leisure facilities and a sustainable drainage solution.

We have worked closely with the Local Planning Authority and other statutory bodies in order to achieve a supported scheme.
